The Rushmore National Senior High Music Camp is located at Camp Judson near Keystone, South Dakota. Camp Judson provides modern facilities in a rustic atmosphere surrounded by the exquisite beauty of the Black Hills of South Dakota. Students are housed in cabins and supervised by experienced counselors at a 7:1 counselor to camper ratio. Delicious home cooked meals are served in air conditioned Judson dining facility. The Senior High Music Camp offers opportunities for both instrumental and vocal students.
Rushmore Music Campers have opportunities to perform in both concert and jazz band. Individual performance lessons are offered by professional instructors on every instrument. Group instruction in the form of master classes is offer for every instrumental areas. Enrichment classes are offered to enhance the music education experience. Classes in music understanding, music listening, jazz improvisation, conducting, and other areas are offered by well known, experienced music instructors. Other classes offered include chess, fitness, and dance. Students enrolled in the instrumental track also have the opportunity to perform in the Rushmore Choir and Rushmore Singers.
Daily recreational activities are available for all campers.
An 1880 Train Ride through the Black Hills (additional fee)
Ultimate Frisbee and Frisbee Golf
Campers are also able to purchase snacks and soft drinks from the Judson Camp Store.
The Rushmore National Music Camp Final Concert for the Senior High Week will be performed (venue TBD) Friday, August 13, at 5:30 PM.
